The Meta Quest Pro, the latest virtual reality headset from Meta, will cost $1,500 and begin selling on October 25 according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday.
At the Meta Connect conference for VR and augmented reality developers, Zuckerberg unveiled the gadget.
The new headset, which costs $1,100 more than Meta’s Quest 2 headgear, includes new technology like a Qualcomm-developed enhanced mobile Snapdragon processor that enables the gadget to produce more sophisticated graphics.

The Quest Pro also features updated lenses for better reading experiences and enhanced touch controllers with embedded sensors for better hand tracking.
The new headset has certain mixed-reality capabilities that let you combine components of the virtual and real worlds. That has been hailed by Zuckerberg as a crucial component in the development of the metaverse, a term for the virtual and augmented reality (VR) worlds that individuals may access.

During the online event, CEO Satya Nadella also made an appearance and talked about a collaboration with Meta that aims to bring some of his company’s work-collaboration apps to Quest VR headsets.
The Team chat app, the Microsoft 365 business software, and the Xbox online gaming service are some of the Microsoft apps that users of Quest devices will be able to access.
On Quest, Nadella stated, “You will be able to play 2D games with your Xbox controller projected on a huge screen.” Although it is still early, we are eager for what lies ahead.
In lunchtime trading, Meta shares fell approximately 4.5% to $127.85, highlighting the lack of excitement among investors for the new VR headgear.
