It’s been three years since the NTT IndyCar Series visited Exhibition Place in Toronto and the fourth finisher since 2019, Josef Newgarden is the PointsBet Sportsbook favorite this week for Sunday’s race (3 p.m. ET on Peacock Premium).

Newgarden’s opening line of +420 put him at the top of the list. He won on this track in 2015 and 2017, but has not stood on the podium since then. Newgarden has won three times this season, at the Long Beach and Elkhart Lake tracks and the Texas Motor Speedway oval.

One way to view American Odds is to move the decimal two places to the left. This will let the bettor know what they will make on a $1 bet, so this week’s payout at Newgarden is $4.20. For more relaxed bets and lower odds, a +300 bet is equivalent to 3/1.

Newgarden opened with a slight advantage over a field led by Patricio O’Ward, who entered at +450. Running only a handful of times in 2018 and 2019, this is O’Ward’s first chance to race at the top level in Toronto, but he has time around the track and won the Indy Lights division in 2018.

Alex Palou, who enters the race surrounded by questions about whether to race for Chip Ganassi or McLaren in 2023, opened at +460. Last year’s champion is committed to putting an end to these distractions and has insisted that he and the team can still compete for the championship.

Even though all three drivers got a chance, Colton Herta also has the lowest line of +650 this week. Herta finished seventh in his previous attempt in Toronto, but won 16 starting positions on his way to the top 10.

Will Power rounds out the top five this week with a +750 line. Power has a poor record on this track with five wins in its first two seasons in 2009/2010, 15 results or worse in the next four, ten-10 in 2014, followed by three consecutive wins of eight results of 18 or worse. on his last three attempts. Power won the 2016 edition of the tournament.

Last week’s winner at Mid-Ohio, Scott McLaughlin is sixth with a +900 line.
