The public is invited to Family Health and Safety Day, a family-friendly event featuring free health screenings, educational events and demonstrations, at UH Portage Medical Center, 6827 N. Chestnut St. in Ravenna, on July 30 from 9am to 1pm.

Medical tests that require advance registration include carotid vascular, hearing, and hernia. Call 330-577-9993 to register.

Walking health assessments include stability and grip, blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index, bone density, cholesterol and risk of prediabetes.

• Breast health education / mammography.

• Car seat safety checks.

• Food-for-Life Market education and fundraising.

• Planting herbs (to take home) and good recipes.

There will also be a Kids Zone, including a Boo-Boo Clinic (take home Teddy bear), prize wheel, and coloring/crafts.
