City Golf Quarterfinals wrap up


WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – The final three quarterfinal games in the Watertown Men’s City Golf Tournament took place on Friday.

The first match of the day saw 9th seed Mitchell Scoville against 32nd seed Brett Warner.

On the second hole the match was even with Warner sinking the putt.

Scoville also sinks his putt to save the match even after 2.

The match is still at 4, Scoville birdies as Warner comes up short. Scoville takes the holeshot to go 1 up.

On the par 3 5th hole, Warner’s par putt draws to the right.

Scoville makes his par putt to go 2 up, Scoville beats Warner 5 and 4.

The second quarterback game of the day featured No. 21 Joe Tufo against Jarret Sweet.

Both players can make the first hole, but at 2 Sweet drains the long eagle putt to win the hole and go 1 up.

On the 4th hole, Sweet was still 1 up when Tufo got under the cup for birdie, compare all.

On the fifth hole, after Sweet bogeys, Tufo sinks a par putt to go 1 up. Tufo has won 1 game at the top.

On the 6th hole, Sweet responded with a birdie putt to win the hole and the match.

The final quarter-final match of the day saw 19th seed Mike Burgess take on 22nd seed Dylan Kerenahan.

On the first hole, Kerenahan jumped out quickly, sinking the par putt to go 1 up.

On the second hole, it’s Kerenahan with another par putt to take the holeshot and go 2 up.

On the 3rd hole, the same result as Kerenahan sinks the par putt to extend his lead to 3 up.

On the 4th hole, Burgess sinks a par putt to narrow the hole.

Kerenahan continues to beat Burgess.
