MAYVILLE – The 2022 Vintage Book and Paper Show & Sale is returning the first weekend of August in Chautauqua County, and this year it’s in a new and bigger location.
The event will be held from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, Aug. 6, at Chautauqua Suites, 215 West Lake Road, Route 394, Mayville.
The Book and Paper Show will feature more than 20 vendors selling a variety of items, including antique and rare books, original books, antiques, history, postcards, photography, maps, antiques, posters, sports memorabilia, comic books, business cards , sheet music, and more.
“There’s something here for everyone,” said Bob Johnston, show chairman. “All are invited to come and take advantage of what will turn out to be a rich, artistic, and cultural treasure hunt.”
Books are also an important part of the event, with a variety of vendors selling rare books, hard to find originals as well as modern first editions, children’s books and a variety of historical books – including local and regional history. In addition to local books, there will also be local photos, postcards and other items.
This year’s vendors include well-known Western New York booksellers Kevin Ransom and Ron Cozzi, mail order dealers George Sinclair and Carol Abendschein, vintage photographer/dealer Scott Brasseur, regional ephemera from Vince Martonis/Tom Karapantso, and fun items. and unusual based. Bill Pop of Erie and Bob Hopper from Falls Church, Va. Attendees include Wayne Leamer to help with area genealogy, Rick Roll with digital family history solutions, and railroad writer Kenneth Springirth.
Admission to the event is $5 and all proceeds benefit the Jamestown Trolley Car #93 Restoration Project and Building Fund by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
