Russia’s gas monopoly Gazprom said on Friday that it had started to pump gas to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline after receiving written confirmation from Dutch authorities that the pipe was free of leaks, the Interfax news agency reported. The system of ground pipelines has been put into operation and gas deliveries have resumed, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told Interfax, adding that it was continuing to pump gas to Europe via its second main export route, Nord Stream 2, he said. Gazprom declined further comment.
