Ranbir Kapoor’s toned, muscular body has caught the attention of social media users who can’t get enough of his abs and chest muscles. Yash Raj Films, which has production responsibilities for Ranbir’s new project, Shamshera, has definitely been using Ranbir’s good looks and sculpted physique to its advantage in photo shoots. Filming together, Ranbir and Vaani Kapoor oozed chemistry with a couple of shots showcasing Ranbir’s bulging biceps and toned stomach.

Director Karan Malhotra explains that the Kapoor scion worked obsessively hard on his role and to reach the desired weight and fitness. The only one hard-working actor here is Ranbir who embodied the roles of Shamshera and Balli. I wanted the audiences to feel his internal strength and resolve each time they saw him onscreen, so I built up a specific physique for him. So, with that in mind, I had Ranbir build a body that added more strength to his character in the film, he says.

He says, the intention was never for his physical build to be a distraction, but instead an asset to his characters. As I have said before, I can say this very confidently. The intention was never for his physical build to be a distraction, but instead an asset to his characters. The actor put in a lot of effort to make his presence felt both mentally and physically in his character, and that’s why he looks stunning in every frame of Shamshera and owns it with great power.

The secret behind Ranbir Kapoor’s hot body in Shamshera:

Ranbir’s trainer Kunal Gir talks about Ranbir’s excellent shape for Shamshera. He says, The goal was to make RK look athletic and strong rather than very muscular, which his character resembled in Shamshera. This also corresponded with his rough, rustic charm in the film. In order to look as appealing as possible in Shamshera, Ranbir’s meals would include at least five meals a day. RK was also on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet and trained for rigorous exercise for five days a week! He would have a cheat meal just once a week.
He also says that we would train five days a week. These training sessions would last an hour followed by a quick five-minute session on the treadmill with weights on our back and all of that called truck and where the treadmill was turned off and he would just hold on to the belt and make the belt move with his legs. As he had to deal with a lot of heat and dust on set, we worked on breathing exercises that would help him stay calm throughout the long and strenuous shooting process.

Bottom Line

The story of Shamshera is set in the fake city of Kaza, where a fierce warrior tribe is enslaved and tortured by an uncompromising, tyrannical general named Shuddh Singh. Karan Malhotra’s film is about a man who became a slave, then became a leader, and eventually became a legend in his tribe. His drive for fighting for his tribe’s freedom and dignity is relentless. In this hugely impressive casting move, Sanjay Dutt will be the hated antagonist who creates disharmony in Ranbir’s life, causing conflicts that the audiences will eagerly look forward to.
Shamshera, directed by Aditya Chopra, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 22, 2022.
